Children of the Night
by Claudia Malagon
The celestial sky shines outside
my world is calling me
I go to it and I live in it.
the streets are glowing
neon signs
people living
my prey, my feeding
I stalk a couple
went through dark alleys
alleys I know
alleys thru time.
I get them
Ha! I got him
he fights, he stumbles
the warm neck
my own
my fangs go deep
I taste the warm in him
I recover and I feel Alive
I want more, I need more
She escaped,
what fun!
I know where she heads
the 13th street
she ends in an end alley
she is gasping and I can smell her fear
I see her
she prays
I embrace her
she calms down
I look at her
blue eyes
bleached skin
a companion, nevertheless?
nevermind, she is a coward
fights still, screams
its a delight and I am cunning
she runs a few steps, stumbles...
my thirst quenches
I grasp her neck,
snap! break!
she gasps a final breath and gone,
my thirst quenches
the warm in her
goes all around my deadless body
my heart swells
I am alive.
I live her body
such a pretty body
oh well, another in time
another I fed.
the sky and darkness calls me
I am one of them
I listen to the call
I am it, the children of the night.
