Lonely Father
by Frank Villarruel

I remember the first day we met
We were destined to be together,
But my eyes were blinded to see
How it turned out leaving me forever,
Alone.

We always had fun together
But you threw it in my face,
You ran away when I needed you
And left my in my special place,
Alone.

As for our bond that we used to have
I did not ask for you to leave me,
Break me, or fake what we had
But you were meant to treat me,
Alone.

The memories will always hurt inside
The pain burns trom being obsessed,
With you, but I just found out
That I will always be best,
Alone.

Taken aback by lack of vision
Trust me father, decades leave fast,
We both hoped it would end quickly
Just as I cannot forget the past,
Alone.

They say I am to be like you
A fate I do not see at all,
Twisted and cruel like you
Irrelevance shortens your fall,
Alone.
Ironically, it seems fate has lost
You were meant to go away,
As I grow to be a better man
Than you, I will always stay,
Alone.
